Access & equity through VTAC (SEAS):
RMIT considers the full range of SEAS categories in the selection of students for certificate, diploma, advanced diploma, associate degree and degree courses. The SEAS application is one way of ensuring that the impact of background and circumstances on your previous educational achievement is understood and taken into consideration in the selection process. SEAS applicants may receive an adjustment in the calculation of their selection rank of up to 20, depending on the SEAS category and level of disadvantage. If you are a year 12 student at an RMIT SNAP school you are encouraged to apply through SEAS Category 1 to receive an equity adjustment of up to 20. In courses that select on a range of criteria such as folio or interview, SEAS and SNAP applicants will receive consideration on their performance in these tasks.
If you are applying to RMIT with no prior Year 12, vocational education training, higher education studies or relevant work or life experience or where these do not meet the minimum course entry requirements and you are 19 years of age or over (as of 1 January) and have not enrolled in secondary studies in the last two years, you may sit the STAT multiple choice.
STAT results are valid for two years prior to the commencement of study and can be used to satisfy Year 12 English prerequisite by achieving the following scores:
Bachelor degree: overall score of at least 156 or verbal reasoning sub-score of 155
Associate degree: overall score of at least 150 or verbal reasoning sub-score of 149
Where a course states that you can sit the STAT multiple choice to meet academic entry requirements, your STAT results will be converted to an equivalent ATAR and used for selection.
